Mia Gimenez is an award-winning performer whose career spans musical theatre, opera, and contemporary music on stages across the United States and abroad. She has appeared with renowned companies including the Lyric Opera of Chicago (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg), Tony® Award-winning TheatreWorks Silicon Valley (Sweeney Todd – Beggar Woman), Broadway By the Bay (Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award winner, Les Misérables – Fantine), Riverside Theatre (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 – Hélène Bezukhova), and Timberlake Playhouse (Mamma Mia! – Rosie, The Sound of Music – Mother Abbess).
Her regional and guest artist credits include San Francisco’s Ray of Light Theatre (Jerry Springer: The Opera – Andrea), Nolte Productions (Rock of Ages – Justice), City Circle Theatre Company (Songs for a New World – Woman 1, Sweeney Todd – Mrs. Lovett, Evita – Eva Perón), Old Creamery Theatre (Elephant & Piggie: We Are in a Play! – Piggie), Theatre Cedar Rapids (Cinderella – Fairy Godmother), and featured guest appearances at her alma mater, the University of Iowa (Fun Home – Helen, Sunday in the Park with George – Dot), as well as Sonnets for an Old Century (Cordelia Gonzalez).
Mia has performed in venues across the USA with acclaimed directors and conductors from Juilliard, Paris National Opera, New York City Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera. She is now expanding her reach to a new generation of audiences in Australia, continuing to bring powerful storytelling, emotional depth, and vocal versatility to every role she inhabits.
